Emergency Food Box ProgramDistributes over 2,000,000 pounds of food each year!

*Food Box Locations
The Food Box Program is a direct services program, which supplies food to individuals and families who are in need. 23 distributing agencies are located in Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines and St. Bernard Parishes. All residents of these parishes have a specific site at which they can be served. The areas of service are based on Zip Codes and in Orleans Parish; some areas of service are divisions of Zip Codes. Last year the Food Box program provided over 56,716 distributions to 9,453 families. That’s 24,797 individuals who received help from this one program! Families and individuals may receive a nutritionally balanced 3-day supply of food as often as once every month. Only proof of address and a valid ID are required to receive assistance. The recipients must reside within the within the Zip Code boundaries indicated below to receive assistance at a particular site. |
