New Orleans and Lafayette - November 9, 2007 - The Senate is preparing to cast a vote on a Farm Bill that could move the nation a step closer to a hunger-free America. The House of Representatives and the Senate Agriculture Committee have put forth tremendous efforts toward securing a strong nutrition title in the Farm Bill. It is now time to bring a Farm Bill home to every community in the country to ensure that hungry Americans have access to emergency food assistance.
NEW ORLEANS – August 29, 2007 – Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana (GNOA) was recently granted $2.4 million in state funds to help fight hunger in south Louisiana thanks to passage of HB 765 by the State Legislature. A check was presented to GNOA by members of the Louisiana Legislature on Tuesday, August 28 at the main office of Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana, 1201 Sams Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70123.

A check will be presented to Second Harvest by Steve Holdiman, Director of Customer Development and Industry Relations for Kraft Foods, Inc. on Wednesday, January 24, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana, 1201 Sams Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70123. Joining Steve Holdiman will be Kraft customer Jay Campbell, President and CEO of Associated Grocers of Baton Rouge. Both Kraft and Associated Grocers donated resources during the Gulf Coast hurricane relief efforts and share a tradition of charitable giving as they both seek to lend consumers in local communities a helping hand.
