Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana respects
the privacy of its donors and has put in place a Donor Privacy Policy
to honor your rights.
General Collection and
Use of Personal Information
Second Harvest collects and uses personal
information such as: name, address, phone number, and e-mail address
when a donor voluntarily provides it to us. In addition, Second
Harvest keeps a record of each donor's giving history. This information
is kept on file for IRS purposes and is also used by the Development
Department to analyze overall giving patterns in order to make more
accurate budget projections.
Second Harvest does NOT sell, trade,
or share its donor list with any other organization
Security
Second Harvest requires all personnel
handling donor information
to maintain these files in desks or cabinets that lock.
Every employee at Second Harvesters
has a personal password for their computer that is changed every
quarter. Donor information is kept on a separate database on a separate
server that requires two additional passwords to access. Only personnel
that are directly involved with handling donor information and the
IT Department have access to this server.
